Thermal insulation is the reduction of heat transfer (i.e., the transfer of thermal energy between objects of differing temperature) between objects in thermal contact or in range of radiative influence. Thermal insulation can be achieved with specially engineered methods or processes, as well as with suitable object shapes and materials.
Any surface which is hotter than its surroundings will lose heat. The heat loss depends on many factors, but the surface temperature and its size are dominant.
PP CAGE (Personal Protection Caging)
The personnel protection caging are used when insulating the line is not necessary, but operating temperatures require safeguarding personnel from encountering the pipe. Surfaces with operating temperatures below -10 °C or above 70 ° C and are confined to a distance of not more than 2,1 m vertically and 0,8 m horizontally away from walkways and normal working areas shall be guarded by screens.
